I think what he is taking issue to is that you are going in and making changes to something that he'd copied over directly as it had been posted in 2002. The Codex that he wrote six years ago.
If you want to give your version of things, why not append the end?
Otherwise, I hear Jimmy the Hand has a Codex about another incident. Why don't you edit the hell out of that while you're at it?
